What’s involved?

I mainly work face-to-face with my clients although with established clients I also do telephone coaching sessions. Clients come to my office or I visit them in the work place. Either way, we work in total privacy and with complete confidentiality. Initially I take a brief ‘history’ and ask some questions that help me to gain a good picture of the client and what it is they hope to achieve. Our relationship is equal and based on trust and professional respect.

I will ask questions that may never have been asked before. This is to help clients begin to understand what may be holding them back in certain areas of their personal or professional life. Sometimes these questions generate a Eureka moment! At other times they probe deeply into the mind and help clients to see things in a completely different light. Either way, clients get to know themselves better and begin to appreciate what it is they want from life and, very importantly, find a way of achieving it.

Often I ask clients to do some reflective work in between coaching sessions. This is to maximise the impact of the desired change or development through raising self-awareness. It can be very powerful and it provides personal insights that often clients haven’t appreciated before.

Each session is positive, up-beat and enjoyable! Clients leave me feeling ready to face the next step with enthusiasm and commitment; they return with increased self-esteem and tales of what they have achieved! Clients find themselves in a positive loop that lifts them up to greater things and more satisfaction.

Each session lasts approx 1 hour although the initial session is longer. Clients choose how regularly they wish to meet with me. It is driven by the goals they hope to achieve and how much support they feel they need but it is usually about every 10 days. Initially I would recommend six sessions.
